SANCTUARY VISITS

We are closed on Sundays

Anyone who visits the Sanctuary will tell you: There’s just something special about this place. Located on the coast between Carmel and Big Sur, California, our sanctuary is home to ten remarkable horses. Visiting the Sanctuary is a relaxing, personal way to meet the herd and learn more about our amazing stories of horse rescue and rehabilitation.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

Visits are by appointment only and are offered Monday through Saturday between the hours of 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Each visit lasts approximately two hours as you are guided around the property and meet each member of the herd. Although these visits are free of charge, we greatly appreciate and need your support. All donations go directly to the care of the horses. To make arrangements for your personal visit please contact Sharon at info@seastarhorsesanctuary.org

BEFORE YOUR VISIT

  • Visit our website and read the “Meet The Herd” section so you can familiarize yourself with each horse.
  • Check the local weather and come prepared. The weather at the Sanctuary can be quite different than that in the Carmel area due to the cool coastal breezes.  Please bring warm clothes, water bottles, sunscreen, etc. as appropriate. If it has rained in the past week, we recommend you wear waterproof boots as the Sanctuary gets very muddy. Close-toed shoes are required.
  • For our animal’s safety, please leave your pets and companion animals at home when you come to visit. For your pet’s safety, do not leave them in the car during your visit.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

A mask is required in some areas of the property. While most of your visit will be outside, we ask that you wear a mask while we are in the barn.

THANK YOU

We appreciate the opportunity to inspire a deeper understanding of these sensitive, spirited beings. Although this private visit is offered free of charge, we are deeply grateful for your contribution to the horses.
